Lindsay Lohan needs her appendix removed.

Lindsay Lohan will to have surgery to remove her appendix, her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, said Thursday.


Zelnik declined to give details. In response to a query by The Associated Press, Zelnik said in an e-mail that the 20-year-old actress was "having her appendix removed. She is resting comfortably."

Doctors asked her to return to the hospital Thursday to remove her appendix as a precaution. Lohan, whose screen credits include "Bobby," "A Prairie Home Companion" and "Freaky Friday," was treated for several hours at a Los Angeles area hospital last July for overheating and dehydration after being overcome by the heat on the set of "Georgia Rule."

She was treated at hospitals twice in January 2006 — in London for a cut on her leg and in the Miami area for an asthma attack. In 2005, she was hospitalized for exhaustion and lost a noticeable amount of weight.

"Yes, she's been attending some meetings, and it's going to be a slow process," says her publicist, Leslie Sloane. "This is a positive. Let's hope that the press doesn't turn it into a negative."

Sloane says she's asking the media not to intrude on the meetings or follow Lohan, 20, to and from the gatherings.

"Maybe if (the press) backs off on her she'll be in a good space," Sloane added. "Let's see if we don't have to hear about it every day, and they're following her and trying to find her. Because that will just really not be good."

Earlier this week, the New York Post's Page Six column reported that Lohan was spotted at an AA meeting in Los Angeles. On Friday, E!'s Ryan Seacrest asked Lohan's mother, Dina, if Lohan was in AA. Dina replied, "That is true. ... It's a positive thing."

However, a savvy web searcher won't have to look long before they realize that like Victoria's Secret, Lindsay Lohan has not left too much for the imagination.

Lohan Moves out of Hollywood Hotel After Row

Lindsay Lohan has moved out of Hollywood hotel the Chateau Marmont after spending a year living there, following an alleged row with management over her room allocation.

Sources tell US tabloid National Enquirer Lohan lived in one room and used another three to host parties and store freebie clothing gifts.

Upon returning from a recent trip to Europe, the Mean Girls star was told she’d have to downsize and she took umbrage and walked out.

A source says, “She threw a fit but was told there were no more available rooms.’Fine, I’ll just move out,’ she yelled, and the management quickly agreed she should.”

According to the Enquirer expose, Lohan demanded late night snacks, disturbed other guests with parties in her room and even insisted the hotel staff go out and buy her cigarettes.

Lohan Calls Hilton A Four-Letter Word

Lindsay Lohan tossed a four-letter expletive at fellow Hollywood run-around Paris Hilton earlier this week.

In a video posted Thursday on YouTube.com, Lohan was captured leaving a Los Angeles hotel inside which Hilton had reportedly been partying. The 20-year-old actress, as she was getting into the passenger side of an SUV, used the profanity to describe Hilton after an observer asked if they'd fought earlier.

"She's kidding," a friend in the back seat quickly followed up Lohan's sniping.

When asked why she used the word she did, Lohan backtracked: "I never said that. Paris is my friend ... No, I love her."

The car then sped off into the night.

Lohan, probably more famous for her tabloid-churning antics than for her movie roles, will next be seen in the drama, "Bobby," slated to be release Nov. 17.

Lindsay To Visit Iraq...

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Actress Lindsay Lohan wants to entertain U.S. troops in Iraq and follow in the footsteps of her idol, Marilyn Monroe, who visited soldiers in Korea during the 1950s. But first, Lohan plans to learn how to shoot a gun.

"I've been trying to go to Iraq with (U.S. Senator) Hillary Clinton for so long. Hillary was trying to work it out, but it seemed too dangerous," Lohan, 20, told Elle magazine in an interview that hits newsstands on Wednesday.

"I wanted to do what Marilyn Monroe did, when she went and just set up a stage and did a concert for the troops by herself," Lohan said. "It's so amazing seeing one woman just going somewhere, this beautiful sex kitten, who's basically a pinup, which is what I've always aspired to be."

A spokesman for the former first lady, now a New York Democrat expected to make her own bid for the White House in 2008, said Lohan had expressed an interest in going to Iraq.

"It was suggested to her that if she really wanted to, she could pursue doing so through the USO (United Services Organization)," Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines said.

Lohan, whose film credits include "Mean Girls," "Herbie Fully Loaded" and "A Prairie Home Companion," said she already has plans to prepare for a possible visit to Iraq.

"I'm not afraid of going," she said. "My security guard is going to take me to a gun range when I get back to L.A., and I'm going to start taking shooting lessons. He says if I'm going to go there I should know how to shoot."

Lohan's interview comes a little more than a week after she was publicly chided by film producer James G. Robinson, who accused her of failing repeatedly to show up for work on time during the shooting of her latest film, "Georgia Rule."

Lohan's representatives had said the actress had been taken to the hospital for treatment of heat exhaustion.

JULY 28--Lindsay Lohan's hard-partying antics and recent bout of "heat exhaustion" has left one Hollywood big shot steamed. In a blistering July 26 letter to the 20-year-old actress, James G. Robinson, who heads the L.A. firm producing Lohan's current movie, calls her recent erratic behavior "discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional." Robinson, the 70-year-old chief executive of Morgan Creek Productions, writes that Lohan has "acted like a spoiled child and in doing so have alienated many of your co-workers and endangered the quality" of "Georgia Rule," a movie now being filmed and which stars Lohan, Jane Fonda, and Felicity Huffman. A copy of Robinson's letter--which was delivered to Lohan at the Chateau Marmont hotel--is shown above. A Morgan Creek official confirmed to us that the missive was sent to Lohan and her various representatives earlier this week. Robinson notes that while Lohan's aides have chalked up her lateness and absences to illness, he is "well aware that your ongoing all night heavy partying is the real reason for your so called 'exhaustion.'" Noting that Morgan Creek refuses to "accept bogus excuses for your behavior," Robinson warns Lohan that she will be held "personally accountable" for losses caused by her actions. Claiming that Lohan's behavior has already "resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage," Robinson hints at possible legal action against the actress unless she begins honoring her production commitments. He concludes, "I urge you to take this letter seriously and conduct yourself professionally."
